GRX10 – Robust and full of character for handbuilding and the Raku technique
The GRX10 is a grogged, colored stoneware clay with coarse grog (approx. 40%, 0-1 mm), making it especially suitable for handbuilding, slab techniques, object ceramics, and architectural ceramics. Despite the grog content, it remains malleable and easy to shape, which allows for versatile processing.
Its high iron oxide content ensures vibrant, interesting glazing effects. Especially in reduction firings, the GRX10 develops fascinating metallic-black surfaces, while glazes interact intensely with the clay.
This clay is also perfect for the Raku technique due to its coarse structure. The unglazed surface takes on a unique, crusty-metallic appearance, and even large works can be excellently treated using the Raku technique.
