Description
Givul LA serves to covering areas if slips, glazes or ceramic colors should be omitted. Givul LA (Revultex) is detracted ahead of the firing. Givul LA (Revultex) is stabilized with ammonia and smells accordingly. It is a (gum) milk-like liquid.
General
Givul LA is frost-sensitive. Storage temperatures of more than 30° C should also be avoided. The bottle should be closed tightly immediately after use. In case of pots standing open, air creates a skim that is no longer usable. Therefore, only that amount of liquid should be taken out of the bottle which will be processed. Givul LA may be diluted with distilled water and condensed with glazing glue (Art. 806).
Use in Ceramics
Givul LA serves to cover areas at certain positions if slips, glazes or ceramic colors should be omitted.
Apply Givul LA with a brush or a sponge onto leather-hard, dried, engobed, raw-fired or glazed clay.
After approx. 30 minutes, when the Givul-film had been dried, you may engobe, paint or glaze. The gum-elastic film may be removed without residues. To do so, use a prick to lift the film. The thus omitted decoration or area re-emerge on the foundation ground.
If you wished to apply several glaze layers on top of each other via omission, you could add glazing glue (Art. 806) to the glazing. The glazing layer stiffens and facilitates the application of the Givul-omission.
Clean the brush after use with soapy water. Possibly, brush it out with a wire brush. Brushes soaked in Givul LA should not be left in open air as dried Givul LA cannot be removed from the brush anymore.
