GECH30 – Coarsely grogged stoneware clay with yellow-beige firing color
The GECH30 is a robust stoneware clay with coarse grog, perfect for handbuilding, slab techniques, object ceramics, and architectural ceramics. The grog ensures high stability, allowing even large and complex shapes to be reliably created. Despite the coarse texture, the clay remains highly malleable and pleasant to work with.
After the stoneware firing, the GECH30 takes on a warm, yellow-beige color, giving it a natural, earthy appearance. The high iron oxide content creates vibrant glazing effects, making the clay especially suitable for artistic surface designs.
In reduction firings, the color further develops a fascinating reddish yellow-brown shade, while glazes interact intensely with the clay. The GECH30 is also highly suitable for the Raku technique: the unglazed surface takes on a rough and matte texture, which is perfect for experimental surface effects.
Benefits of the GECH30:
The GECH30 lets you create impressive works with warm colors, vibrant glazing effects, and robust durability – a stoneware clay for creative freedom and exciting experiments.
