Description
Plate protection in powder form
General information
In order to give the oven inserts a long service life, they are treated with a plate protection agent. Highly running glazes no longer stick to the kiln plates and the material to be fired can be easily removed from the plates.
Before use
-
The plate protection is suitable for all fires up to 1300°C.
-
It is recommended to treat the boards with a protective agent before the first firing and to use them in a raw firing.
-
With 1 kg of panel protection, approx. 1-1.5 m2 of panels can be treated.
application
-
Stir 1 kg of Bodmer plate protector and 1.5 l of warm water together to form a thick paste.
-
Apply 2-3 coats of the paste with a flat brush or roller to the insert plates, drying each coat about 30 minutes before the next.
-
Only treat panels on one side! Do not treat edges and side surfaces. With treatment on both sides, glazed objects underneath are infested in smooth firing.
-
As a rule, the kiln plates are inserted with the protective layer of the plate facing downwards for raw firing and upwards for smooth firing. This prevents any bending of the plates.
-
Defective areas can easily be repaired. The plate protection, which has become glazed due to many fires, can easily be removed with a spatula. The oven plates can then be repainted with plate protection. This keeps your stove plates in perfect condition for a long time.
