GRX20 – The stoneware clay for large projects and Raku

The coarse grog (approx. 40%, 0-3 mm) makes GRX20 the perfect choice for handbuilding, slab techniques, object ceramics, and architectural ceramics. It is ideal for large sculptures, reliefs, and demanding ceramic projects due to its high stability. Despite the grog content, the clay remains malleable and easy to shape.

The high iron oxide content ensures striking glazing effects. Especially in reduction firings, the GRX20 develops a deep black, metallic-shimmering surface, while glazes interact intensely with the clay, leading to fascinating color play.

Due to its coarse structure, this clay is also perfect for the Raku technique. The unglazed surface takes on a distinctive, crusty-metallic appearance. This clay is also ideal for firing large-scale works in a Raku kiln.
